Will Limited Foreign Language Credits Hurt Admission Odds?

Question: My student (a 9th superior papers reviews grader) is grappling with exactly how many years of language to take school that is high. It limits her choices to take other things, like continuing in orchestra or exploring the STEM-Project Lead the Way program since it is an elective. Is there any trend or motion in college admissions to replace the standard year that is 2-4 language demands with fine arts courses or other coursework? How do you claim that students prepare to fulfill a spanish requirement, when they don’t know what college they will apply to yet?! Is there any wiggle room into the university admission/application process if a student has too little spanish credits from high school, but has brought rigorous alternative courses instead? Thanks for responding!

Being a mom of the senior school sophomore, my advice superiorpapers com could be, “Let your child simply take what excites her many, so long as she fulfills minimum language requirements.”

But, being a college therapist, my response is various. I don’t see any trend toward reducing foreign language expectations. During the more selective universities, three years associated with the same language that is foreign considered minimal and four is preferable. At a number of other schools, however, including some quite selective ones, 2 yrs of language is okay. Therefore if your daughter has Ivy in her eyes, or should your crystal ball shows that she may be deciding on any of the very competitive universities, I would personally urge her to keep to match language into her schedule, even superiorpapers if it means taking summer time classes or playing overseas immersion programs. (The latter could be very costly nevertheless the previous is found at community universities close to house or even, if required, online.)
